Part I (1919-1960s) of the ACLS collection is available to researchers at any time by contacting the Manuscript Division Reading Room to schedule a visit.
This year-long project will culminate in 2014 at which point the Library of Congress will provide access to Part II (1950s-1990s) of the collection. Because of the magnitude of this collection, no early access to Part II will be given to researchers.
There will be a Finding Aid available on the Library and ACLS websites, so that all researchers may peruse the collection’s holdings before scheduling an appointment to use the materials. You can check out our Finding Aids here.
If you feel that your research requires that the collection be made available before the 2014 release, please contact me: cmug@loc.gov
